We will be headed to Washington, D.C. to observe the final Presidential debate between the Democratic and Republican candidates on Monday, November 3. See me to reserve a place, information regarding costs, or any other questions you may have.

We are going to have a debate about the Presidential election on October 25 regarding whether undecided voters should vote Democratic or Republican this year. The debate starts at 7:00 p.m. Hopefully we will be able to have the debate broadcast at a local level or higher.

This is a debate about whether or not the government should be taking more of an initiative towards the preservation of nature. We are still in need of a volunteer in both the negative and affirmative sides of the debate. I will serve as the mediator. The winning team will move on to have each member considered to become a part of the Elite team. I hope to see you all there.

The September 9th debate will take place in the Weshinhauer Memorial Hall on 13th St. See the website for a map and instructions to get there.

The subject of this debate will be over whether or not certain colors have psychological effects on the human mind.

The next debate will be held April 3, 2007. The subject will be over whether violent/negative content is more influential through music or films.

Next week's debate will be over whether or not American teachers should be paid more.

Don't forget that the final Government debate is tomorrow! For those of you who have volunteered in your class to debate, make sure to bring all documents and evidence to class. The two highest ranked teams on each side will meet immediately after classes for the debate championship. Good luck!

Don't forget that if you are applying to get into N.E.D.T. (Northridge Elite Debate Team), ALL applications are due on Friday by 2pm. Auditions will be held immediately after classes. You will not need to bring anything other than yourself. Good luck! 

This year, those who so desire will be able to apply and audition to get into the Northridge Elite Debate Team. Unlike the regular debate team, this team is not open to all students. You have to  apply and audition to get in. This team is much more demanding of your time and involves some traveling to debate other schools. If you would like to apply, you can pick up an application in the main offices.
